After complaining earlier this week of some minor soreness in his left knee,
which previously gave him trouble at the beginning of the season, Parsons ended
up sitting out Thursday’s loss to the Clippers. The Grizzlies seemed to be
treating Parsons’ absence as more of a maintenance day, and his participation in
practice a day later appears to add credence to the notion that the injury isn’t
a major issue. While Parsons is seemingly on track to play Saturday and should
take back his starting role at small forward from James Ennis, he has yet to
play more than 25 minutes in a single game this season and continues to struggle
with his shooting. Over his last five appearances, Parsons is averaging 5.0
points on 27.6 percent shooting from the field to go with 3.2 rebounds and 1.4
assists.
