Celtics Notch 10th Win In A Row

The Boston Celtics defeated the visiting Los Angeles Lakers, 107-96, at TD
Garden on Wednesday evening. This marks a league-best tenth win in a row for the
Celtics (10-2), who were without Al Horford (concussion protocol). The Celtics
jumped out to a 33-16 lead through the first quarter, giving early indications
that it could be a blowout. However, over the next two quarters the Lakers (5-6)
slowly and steadily chipped away so that it was only a three-point game mid way
through the final quarter. The Celtics would not fold though, as Kyrie Irving
and company closed it out in convincing fashion. Aron Baynes stepped up big time
in the absence of Al Horford, finishing with a team-high 21 points, along with
eight rebounds and three assists, in 22 minutes. Kyrie Irving followed up with
19 points on 7-of-21 shooting, six rebounds, four assists and one steal, in 32
minutes. Marcus Morris chipped in 16 points on 6-of-14 shooting, in 23 minutes.
The Celtics only shot 38 percent from the field but got some extra possessions
thanks to 21 turnovers by the Lakers. Meanwhile, Jordan Clarkson and Brandon
Ingram led the way for the Lakers with 18 points each. Julius Randle notched a
double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds, in 21 minutes off the bench, while
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope added 12 points in 35 minutes. The Lakers face the
second night of a back-to-back when they take on the Wizards in Washington
Thursday. The Celtics will look to keep rolling as they play host to the Hornets
on Friday.
