Cavs Outlast Celtics To Tie Series

The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the visiting Boston Celtics, 111-102, in Game 4
of the Eastern Conference Finals, at Quicken Loans Arena on Monday evening. The
Cavs got out to a great start, as they outscored the Celtics 23-8 in the last
eight minutes of the first quarter, to take a 34-18 lead into the second. They
kept a double digit cushion for most of the second, while holding off a Celtics
run late in the quarter, and took a 15-point lead into halftime. The Celtics
came out strong in the third and cut the deficit to single digits late in the
quarter, but the Cavs pushed back to take a 13-point lead into the final frame.
The Celtics continued to fight, cutting the lead back to just seven, mid way
through the quarter, however Cleveland was able to hold on and even the series
at 2-2. LeBron James led the Cavs with 44 points on 17-of-28 shooting, five
rebounds, three assists and two steals, in 41 minutes. Kyle Korver followed up
with 14 points on 4-of-7 shooting, in 25 minutes off the bench. Kevin Love
tallied nine points, 11 rebounds and three assists, while Tristan Thompson added
13 points, 12 rebounds, two blocks, two assists and one steal. The Cavs shot 51
percent from the field, including 8-of-23 from long range. Meanwhile, five
players scored in double digits for Boston, led by Jaylen Brown who finished
with 25 points on 10-of-23 shooting, in 39 minutes. Terry Rozier finished with
16 points, 11 assists, six rebounds and three steals, in 39 minutes, while
Jayson Tatum added 17 points, on 5-of-13 shooting. The Celtics shot 41 percent
from the field, including 9-of-28 from long range. Game 5 will be back in Boston
on Wednesday.
