Cavaliers vs. Heat – October 30, 2015

The Cavaliers will host the Miami Heat in their 2015-16 home opener on Friday at Quicken Loans Arena for the first of three regular season matchups. Tipoff is at 7:00 p.m. ET.

The Cavs got their first win of the season after defeating the Memphis Grizzlies 106-76 on Wednesday, which marked their largest margin of victory over the Grizzlies in team history.

Defensively, Cleveland (1-1) held Memphis to 29-82 (.354) shooting from the field and outrebounded them 54-40. The Wine and Gold also had advantages in points in the paint (48-36), second chance points (14-7) and fast break points (26-8). Eight Cavs players scored at least nine points in the win.

Following dishing out 26 assists against Chicago on Tuesday and 29 assists at Memphis, the Cavs are averaging 27.5 assists on 39.5 field goals per game in the early season.

After missing the postseason last spring, the Heat added some talent over the summer, inking Amar’e Stoudemire, re-signing Goran Dragic and tabbing Justise Winslow in this past June’s Draft.

Miami (1-0) won their home opener on Wednesday after defeating the Charlotte Hornets, 104-94, at AmericanAirlines Arena.

Chris Bosh scored 21 points in his return after being forced to the sideline last February because of a blood clot and pneumonia.
