The Cavaliers defense is allowing the 3rd-lowest scoring average in the league at 95.3, including an NBA-best 22.1 points allowed in the fourth quarter.

Coming into tonight’s contest, Cleveland has held opponents to 22 points or less in the fourth quarter in 10 of the last 14 games.

On the season, the Cavs are holding opponents to .398 shooting from the field (2nd), including .270 from beyond the arc (1st) in the final period.

In 23 career games against the Suns, LeBron James is averaging 28.7 points on .504 shooting, 7.3 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.9 steals in 38.6 minutes per game. He has scored at least 33 points versus Phoenix in three of the last four meetings.

Phoenix (12-20) has dropped four straight and are giving up an average of 105.4 points to rank 27th in the league.

The two teams split last season series with each team garnering a victory on its home floor.

The last time these two teams faced off, Cleveland held Phoenix to 30-84 (.357) shooting en route to an 89-79 victory on March 7, 2015.

The Cavs outscored the Suns 50-28 in the second and third quarters and led by as many as 32 points. Cleveland also held advantages in points in the paint (40-24) and fastbreak points (11-0).

Kevin Love (13 points, 10 rebounds) and Tristan Thompson (15 points, 12 rebounds) each registered double-doubles, while Timofey Mozgov tallied a game-high 19 points on 6-8 (.750) shooting from the field and four rebounds in 25 minutes.

LeBron James added 17 points, a team-high eight assists, six rebounds and one steal in 36 minutes.
