The Cavaliers will play on Christmas Day for the 12th time in franchise history when they visit the Golden State Warriors on Friday at Oracle Arena. Tipoff is at 5:00 p.m. (ET).

Cleveland (19-7) is 6-5 all-time on Christmas. Coming into Friday’s contest, the Cavs have won six straight games, the 2nd-longest active streak in the NBA behind only San Antonio’s seven straight wins.

During their six-game winning streak, Cleveland has outscored their opponents by an average of 14.1 points (101.3-87.2), while also holding the edge in field goal percentage (.474-.402), three-point percentage (.397-.300), assists (23.3-18.7), points in the paint (46.0-30.3), fastbreak points (12.8-6.8) and rebounding (41.8-38.4).

Going back to January 15, 2015 of last season, Cleveland is 18-2 in its last 20 regular season games against Western Conference opponents (4-1 in 2015-16), winning by an average of 10.4 points vs. the West in that 20-game span (109.5-99.1).

LeBron James has played in nine Christmas Day games (27.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, 7.8 assists, 1.8 steals) and is among the Top 10 in several categories for games played on Christmas, including points (245, 5th all-time), assists (70, 4th), steals (16, 5th) and three-pointers made (13, tied-1st).

Golden State won a record 24 straight games to start the season and brings a 27-1 mark into Friday’s game. The Warriors also have won 31 in a row at home in the regular season.

Reigning MVP, Stephen Curry, leads the Warriors (and the NBA) in scoring at 31.8 points per game. Backcourt mate, Klay Thompson, averages 19.3 points while versatile forward, Draymond Green, tallies 14.3 points, 8.8 rebounds and 7.1 assists per contest.

The Cavs and Warriors last met in the 2015 NBA Finals and split the 2014-15 regular season series 1-1.

In six games against the Warriors during the 2015 NBA Finals, LeBron James recorded five double-doubles (two triple-doubles) and averaged 35.8 points, 13.3 rebounds, 8.8 assists and 1.3 steals in 45.7 minutes. He became the first player in Finals history to lead a series in points, rebounds and assists, the first player to produce two triple-doubles with 30 or more points in one Finals series, and the first player in Finals history to post at least 20 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists in five straight games (Games 2-6).

Tristan Thompson averaged a double-double against the Warriors in the 2015 NBA Finals (10.0 points, 13.0 rebounds) while Kyrie Irving had a strong performance in his only outing against the Warriors during the 2015 NBA Finals with 23 points, seven rebounds, six assists, four steals and two blocks in 44 minutes of Game 1.
