Butler did not fly with the team to New Orleans on Sunday in advance of Monday’s game due to a family commitment, ESPN reports. Butler is still expected to make his way to New Orleans and play against the Pelicans, however. “Maybe he had stuff to take care of,” Butler’s agent, Happy Walters, said. “Whatever he’s doing, he’ll be at the game.”

The exact reason for Butler’s absence is unclear, but it doesn’t look as though his status is in much jeopardy Monday night. Chicago was officially eliminated from the playoffs over the weekend, but Butler is expected to see his usual role over the Bulls’ final two games.
