Buddy Hield Wins MTN Dew 3-Point Contest

Sacramento Kings guard Buddy Hield captured his first MTN Dew 3-point Contest on Saturday by besting contest veteran Devin Booker in the finals as well as Washington Wizards forward Davis Bertans.

Hield scored 27 points out of a maximum 40 in the finals to top Booker’s 26. Bertans poured in 22 points as the first of the three shooters in the finals, but Booker — filling in as an injury replacement for Damian Lillard — immediately eliminated Bertans by knocking down seven of his last 10 shots.

Hield came up last in the order, draining his entire money ball rack to edge Booker.

Defending 2019 MTN Dew 3-point Contest champion Joe Harris of the Brooklyn Nets was eliminated in the first round, scoring just 22 points, along with Atlanta’s Trae Young (15), Charlotte’s Devonte Graham (18), Miami’s Duncan Robinson (19) and crowd favorite Zach Lavine of the Chicago Bulls (23).
