The rookie thrived in his first game in a Kings uniform and encouragingly
received a solid allotment of playing time despite the crowded Sacramento
backcourt. Hield’s scoring total was his second best of February, as was his
shooting effort. The 23-year-old’s exact role is far from settled, considering
Tyreke Evans, Langston Galloway, Arron Afflalo, Ben McLemore and Ty Lawson are
all capable of being deployed at two-guard as well. However, Hield is considered
one of the centerpieces of the trade that saw the team part ways with DeMarcus
Cousins, likely giving him an inside track to robust minutes going forward.
