Bucks Dominate With Monroe’s Double-Double Against Former Team

The Milwaukee Bucks (7-8) defeated the Detroit Pistons (7-7) Monday 109-88 at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee.

After losing the first quarter, the Bucks bounced back in a big way, winning the next two periods 63-36. They eventually pulled out what is their more impressive win in what has been a rather slow start to the regular season.

Going against his former team, Greg Monroe shined, recording his second consecutive double-double and finishing with 20 points and 13 rebounds in 31 minutes. Giannis Antetokounmpo continued his strong start to the season recording 17 points, six rebounds and four assists in 27 minutes. Khris Middleton scored 16 points, while Jabari Parker and Michael Carter-Williams each added 12 points, rounding out all five Bucks starters scoring in double figures.

For the Pistons, Andre Drummond recorded a double-double of 15 points and 15 rebounds after failing to do so in his previous game. Beyond Drummond, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was the only other starter to score in double figures, finishing with a team-high 17. The other three Detroit starters combined to score just 11 points, while Stanley Johnson and Anthony Tolliver scored 16 and 13 points respectively off the bench.

Up next, the Bucks will stay at home Wednesday to take on the Kings, while the Pistons will head home Wednesday and play the Heat.
