Bucks Defeat Knicks, 104-93

The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the New York Knicks, 104-93, at BMO Harris Bradley
Center on Wednesday. These are two teams going in opposite directions and
Milwaukee showed just which way in this win. While there were only two ties and
four lead changes in total, neither team led by more than 12 points. It took a
second half run for Milwaukee to win, as they outscored the Knicks, 49-37, in
the second half. Their ability to get to the free-throw line was huge, with the
Bucks going 22-of-28 from the charity stripe, while New York hit just 8-of-12.
Turnovers were a huge impact, with the Knicks committing 16 turnovers to the
Bucks eight. Fastbreak points and scoring in the paint were a huge difference as
well, combining to win those categories, 70-36. The Knicks (26-39) have just
four wins in their last 11 games, as they continue to slide down the standings.
Derrick Rose had his best shooting game of the season though, scoring 26 points
on 13-of-16 shooting. Carmelo Anthony accumulated 16 points, four rebounds and
three assists. Kristaps Porzingis collected 13 points, eight rebounds and three
blocks. Wily Hernangomez did commit six turnovers, but amassed 13 points and 12
rebounds before fouling out. On deck for New York is a road matchup with the
Detroit Pistons on Saturday. The Bucks (30-33) are now 8-3 across their last 11
games, which has catapulted them into the playoffs. Giannis Antetokounmpo led
the way for Milwaukee, as he tallied 32 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists.
Khris Middleton finished second on the team, totaling 18 points, three rebounds
and four assists. Greg Monroe was a huge spark off the bench, providing 17
points, eight rebounds and three assists. Milwaukee will host the Indiana Pacers
for their next game on Friday.
