Brook Lopez: Dealt to the Lakers

Lopez was on an expiring $22.6 million deal for the 2017-18 campaign, so the
Nets opted to ship him out and at least get some value back before losing him in
free agency in the summer of 2018. While the Nets had to take on the final three
years of an ugly four-year, $64 million contract for Mozgov, they at least
received the promising young guard Russell, who was the second overall pick in
the 2015 NBA Draft. Lopez should take on a hefty role in the frontcourt for the
Lakers, which is a tough blow for the outlook of the up-and-coming Ivica Zubac.
