Asik (calf) has been upgraded to a game-time decision for Tuesday’s game against the Magic, John Reid of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Asik has made just one 10-minute appearance this season, after coming out of training camp battling a strained right calf. It appears the Pelicans will bring him along slowly, as he’s still believed to be running at less than 100 percent health. However, any minutes New Orleans can get out of Asik is a bonus, as the team is in need of help at center with Kendrick Perkins (pectoral) out indefinitely. With Asik likely to see limited court time if he plays Tuesday, Alexis Ajinca is expected to assume the bulk of the duties at center.
