Baynes required surgery to repair a broken nose he suffered in practice last week, but coach Stan Van Gundy is optimistic the center will be cleared by doctors to resume non-contact work as soon as Tuesday. If Baynes is able to practice at that point, he’ll likely be able to play in Wednesday’s season opener against the Raptors.
