Less than an hour before tip-off of Saturday’s home game vs. Minnesota, the Pelicans announced that Anthony Davis will not play, after he sustained a right foot injury during pregame warmups. Ryan Anderson will start in Davis’ place at power forward. There was no initial indication of the severity of Davis’ injury. The team said an update on his status will be announced following further medical evaluation.
New Orleans’ starting five is now expected to be Anderson, Norris Cole, Eric Gordon, Dante Cunningham and Alexis Ajinca.
