Varejao had missed Golden State’s previous preseason game Wednesday against the Lakers. Heading into regular season, Varejao is the second-string center, behind Zaza Pachulia, but we could see third-stringer JaVale McGee pass him on the depth chart. Either way, Golden State doesn’t allot many minutes to true centers, so we’re not expecting major contributions from Varejao or McGee.
