The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 114-109 Wednesday at BMO Harris Bradley Center.
One night after the Bucks (21-24) get a much-needed win at home against the Rockets, the 76ers (17-27) come to town and play spoiler. On the second night of a back-to-back set without both Joel Embiid and Jahlil Okafor, Philadelphia managed to find a way to pull away late and end Milwaukee’s win streak at one game. Meanwhile, the 76ers themselves extended their win streak to two games and have now won five of their last six games. Wednesday’s win came on the shoulders off an excellent performance from Gerald Henderson off the bench, as the shooting guard scored a team-high 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field. Additionally, Nerlens Noel, who was filling the shoes of both Embiid and Okafor, came up with a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds in just 28 minutes. As a team, it was a very strong shooting night for Philadelphia, as they shot 53.3 percent from the field overall and 46.2 percent from behind the arc.
For the Bucks, they continue to struggle, as they have now lost six of their last seven games — two of which have now come at home to the 76ers. This was despite a terrific performance off the bench from Greg Monroe, who posted 28 points and nine rebounds in 30 minutes off the bench. Jabari Parker added 20 points of his own, while Giannis Antetokounmpo had a solid overall game of 17 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and four steals, but ultimately it wasn’t enough, as the other three Milwaukee starters managed to score just 22 combined points. On top of it all, the Bucks ending the game on two consecutive turnovers was indicative of the night they had taking care of the ball, as they finished the game with a total of 19.
