February
Shumpert to Rockets in three-team trade
Houston Rockets receive:
G Iman Shumpert
G Nik Stauskas
G Wade Baldwin IV
2021 second-round pick
Sacramento Kings receive:
G Alec Burks
2020 second-round pick
Cleveland Cavaliers receive:
G Brandon Knight
F Marquese Chriss
2019 first-round pick
2022 second-round pick
Feb. 7 | Official release: Cavaliers
Instant Analysis: The Rockets reshuffled their bench depth with this three-team trade. Iman Shumpert help bolster the Rockets’ guard rotation as they battle for a playoff spot in the Western Conference. On Thursday, Nik Stauskas and Wade Baldwin IV reportedly were traded to the Pacers.
For the Kings, Shumpert was less necessary to their team after acquiring Harrison Barnes from the Mavericks in a separate deal on Wednesday.

Barnes to Kings for Jackson, Randolph
Sacramento Kings receive:
F Harrison Barnes
Dallas Mavericks receive:
F Justin Jackson
F Zach Randolph
Official Release: Mavericks
Instant Analysis: Acquiring Barnes, who won a championship in Golden State before leaving to join the Mavericks as a free agent in 2016, offers the playoff-hungry Kings not only a veteran presence, but also a reliable shooter and scorer who can help further amplify the burgeoning games of rising backcourt tandem of De’Aaron Fox and Buddy Hield. The Mavericks acquire a significant expiring contract in Randolph, who has yet to play this season, and a potential shooting threat in Jackson, who’s not quite made his pro basketball bones after leading North Carolina’s 2017 NCAA Championship squad.

Porter Jr. to Bulls
Chicago Bulls receive:
F Otto Porter Jr.
Washington Wizards receive:
F Jabari Parker
F Bobby Portis
Official Release: Bulls | Wizards
Instant Analysis: With John Wall’s absence extending further still following the diagnosis of a ruptured Achilles’ tendon, the Wizards finally shook up their recent core, sending a well-regarded (though highly paid) forward to Chicago for a pair of expirings with potential. Parker, the No. 2 overall pick in 2014, never solidified his position after a heralded Chicago homecoming. Portis has established bona fides off the bench, but never fully cracked the starting lineup during an injury-plagued fourth season with the Bulls.

Pelicans land Morris
New Orleans Pelicans receive:
F Markieff Morris
2023 second-round pick
Washington Wizards receive:
G Wesley Johnson
Official Release: Wizards
Instant Analysis: The Wizards shed payroll by dealing Morris for Johnson’s smaller contract, which allows them to avoid the repeater tax. The Pelicans add a draft pick to their war chest for taking on Morris’ money, though he is also slated to become a free agent this summer.

Suns acquire Johnson
Phoenix Suns receive:
G Tyler Johnson
G Wayne Ellington
Miami Heat receive:
F Ryan Anderson
Instant Analysis: Tyler Johnson may not be a pure point guard, but he does add some much-needed backcourt toughness to a Suns team that ranks 29th in defense. Ellington would provide an upgrade to the league’s worst 3-point shooting team as well, but reports indicate the veteran sharpshooter will be waived and allowed to join a team of his choosing. As for the Heat, they gain significant tax savings and come that much closer to becoming an offseason player sooner than later.

Richardson to Sixers
Philadelphia 76ers receive:
G Malachi Richardson
2022 second-round pick
Draft rights to Emir Preldzic
Toronto Raptors receive:
Cash considerations
Official release: Sixers
Instant analysis: The Sixers continue to be busy before the NBA’s trade deadline. The addition of 6-foot-6 guard Malachi Richardson helps solidify the Sixers’ bench guard depth. The 23 year old averaged just 4.7 minutes over 22 games with the Raptors this season. He was originally drafted by the Sacramento Kings with the 22nd pick of the 2016 NBA Draft.

Lakers add Bullock
Los Angeles Lakers receive:
G Reggie Bullock
Detroit Pistons receive:
Svi Mykhailiuk
Future second-round pick
Feb. 6 | Official release: Lakers | Pistons
Instant analysis: The Lakers add some needed guard depth with the addition of Reggie Bullock. The sixth-year guard averaged 12.1 points, 2.5 assists and 2.8 rebounds over 44 games with the Pistons this season. He should be able to help the Lakers’ depth chart as they wait for starting point guard Lonzo Ball to return from injury.
Rookie Svi Mykhailiuk didn’t receive much opportunity with the Lakers during his first 39 games in the NBA. The 6-foot-8 guard was selected with the 47th pick of the 2018 NBA Draft and averaged 3.3 points in just 10.8 minutes per game with Los Angeles.

Sixers add firepower with Harris trade
Philadelphia 76ers receive:
F Tobias Harris
C Boban Marjanovic
F Mike Scott
LA Clippers receive:
F Wilson Chandler
F/C Mike Muscala
G Landry Shamet
2020 first-round pick
2021 first-round pick (from Miami)
Two future second-round picks (from Detroit)
Feb. 6 | Official release: 76ers | Clippers
Instant analysis: The Sixers continue to go all-in on the 2018-19 season with the addition of Tobias Harris. The eighth-year NBA forward is averaging career-highs of 20.9 points, 7.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 34.6 minutes over 55 games with the Clippers this season. Alongside Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons and Jimmy Butler, Harris and the Sixers could have enough talent to make a run for the Eastern Conference title. Harris, along with Butler, are both unrestricted free agents this summer.
For the Clippers, they add two valuable first-round picks that could be used in another trade before Thursday’s deadline. Rookie guard Landry Shamet has also been impressive during his first season in the NBA with averages of 8.3 points on 44.1-percent shooting from the field and 40.4-percent from 3-point. Wilson Chandler and Mike Muscala both have contracts that will expire this summer.

Blazers land sharpshooter Hood
Portland Trail Blazers receive:
G Rodney Hood
Cleveland Cavaliers receive:
G Wade Baldwin IV
G Nik Stauskas
Two future second-round picks
Feb. 4 | Official release: Blazers | Cavaliers
Instant analysis: Portland ranks seventh in 3-point percentage (36.2 percent) but is tied for 17th in 3-pointers made (574) and is 20th in that category since 2019 began. Enter Hood, who has made 110 or more 3-pointers in three straight seasons. Although he only has 55 3-pointers this season, Hood should get more open looks as a complimentary player in Portland than the near go-to guy he was in Cleveland. He’s also an unrestricted free agent next summer, which gives Portland a way out should the trade flop.
For the Cavs, they acquire future assets (the Draft picks) and two players on expiring contracts (Stauskas and Baldwin) who did not figure much into the Blazers’ rotation. Perhaps they can shine anew in Ohio.

Bulls acquire Luwawu-Cabarrot from Thunder
Chicago Bulls receive:
G/F Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot
Cash considerations
Oklahoma City Thunder receive:
Protected 2020 second-round pick
Feb. 1 | Official release: Bulls | Thunder
Instant analysis: The 6-foot-6 swingman Luwawu-Cabarrot offers some intrigue for a young Bulls squad looking toward the future. For the Thunder, they will be saving $7.3 million toward the luxury tax with the trade.

January
Knicks deal Porzingis to Mavericks in 7-player trade
Dallas Mavericks receive:
F Kristaps Porzingis
G Tim Hardaway, Jr.
G Courtney Lee
G Trey Burke
New York Knicks receive:
C DeAndre Jordan
G Dennis Smith, Jr.
G/F Wesley Matthews
Two future first-round picks
Jan. 31 | Official release: Knicks | Mavericks
Instant analysis: In making this move, the Knicks are freeing up massive cap space for this summer, when they can look to acquire a big-name free agent — or two.
Porzingis, meanwhile, will become a restricted free agent this summer and reportedly plans to sign the qualifying offer with Dallas, which would make him an unrestricted free agent in 2020. But word is that he likes the idea of playing with Dirk Nowitzki and Luka Doncic. Porzingis has been sidelined for nearly a year after tearing his left ACL. The Knicks said recently he would undergo testing during the middle of February that could have determined if he would be able to return this season.

Veteran Anthony dealt to Bulls
Chicago Bulls receive:
F Carmelo Anthony
F Jon Diebler
Cash considerations
Houston Rockets receive:
F Tadija Dragićević
Jan. 22 | Official release: Bulls | Rockets
Instant analysis: Consider this move the official end of the Carmelo Anthony experiment in Houston. The Rockets moved on from Anthony months earlier, but in trading him to Chicago, the former 10-time All-Star has a chance to be bought out or waived. From there, he could latch onto a team for the playoff push.
Diebler plays in the Turkish League and was taken 51st overall by the Portland Trail Blazers in 2011. The Rockets acquired his rights in 2012. Dragićević was the No. 53 pick in 2008 by the Utah Jazz and his rights were dealt to Chicago in 2014. He has played in several countries in his career, most recently in Spain.

Chicago Bulls receive:
G Michael Carter-Williams
Cash considerations
Houston Rockets receive:
2020 second-round pick
Jan. 7 | Official release: Bulls | Rockets
Instant analysis: With this move, the Rockets were able to clear a roster spot to use for undrafted rookie Danuel House. Michael Carter-Williams was subsequently waived by the Bulls before his contract became guaranteed at the end of the day on Jan. 7.

Grizzlies add guard depth
Chicago Bulls receive:
G MarShon Brooks
G Wayne Selden
2019 second-round pick
2020 second-round pick
Memphis Grizzlies receive:
G Justin Holiday
Jan. 3 | Official release: Bulls | Grizzlies
Instant analysis: Justin Holiday brings versatility to the Grizzlies’ bench as they eye a run at the postseason. The 29-year-old guard started all 38 games for the Bulls this season with averages of 11.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.8 steals in 34.8 minutes.

December
Wizards add Ariza
Washington Wizards receive:
F Trevor Ariza
Phoenix Suns receive:
G Austin Rivers
G/F Kelly Oubre Jr.
Dec. 13 | Official release: Wizards | Suns
Instant analysis: Trevor Ariza returns to the Wizards after playing with the team from 2012-14. The veteran forward should help the Wizards space the floor with his 3-point shot, which he hit at a 36-percent clip during 26 games with Phoenix. The Suns waived veteran guard Austin Rivers on Dec. 18. Oubre Jr., a 23-year-old forward, was drafted with the No. 15 pick in 2015. He will become a restricted free agent this summer.

Cavs trade guard Hill to Bucks
Milwaukee Bucks receive:
G George Hill
C Jason Smith
2021 second-round pick
Cleveland Cavaliers receive:
G Matthew Dellavedova
F John Henson
2021 first-round pick
2021 second-round pick
Washington Wizards receive:
F Sam Dekker
Dec. 7 | Official release: Bucks | Cavs | Wizards
Instant analysis: The Bucks fortify their backcourt with the addition of Hill, a combo guard who can pass and shoot with veteran decision-making. Cleveland continues its rebuild by padding its Draft cupboard while bringing back a well-liked former Cavs player in Dellavedova. The Bucks completed a pick swap with Washington and contributed a second-rounder to Milwaukee in order to get Dekker, an athletic frontcourt player looking for a long-term home.

November
Jazz re-acquire sharpshooter Korver
Utah Jazz receive:
F Kyle Korver
Cleveland Cavaliers receive:
G Alec Burks
2020 second-round pick
2021 second-round pick
Nov. 29 | Official release: Cavs | Jazz
Instant analysis: At the time of the trade, the Jazz were shooting a paltry 31.9 percent on 3-pointers, which ranks 28th in the NBA. Enter Korver, a career 43.2 percent 3-point shooter and one of the best long-range shooters in NBA history. He returns to Utah, where he played from 2007-10 and was a fan favorite for a myriad of reasons. For the Cavs, they get a slashing scorer in Burks who could become a piece for their future as they navigate a difficult season. Future second-round picks don’t hurt either, as they could net prospects or be used in a future trade (perhaps later this season).

Sixers acquire Butler from Wolves
Philadelphia 76ers receive:
F Jimmy Butler
C Justin Patton
Minnesota Timberwolves receive:
F Robert Covington
F Dario Saric
G Jerryd Bayless
2022 second-round pick
Nov. 12 | Official release: Sixers | Wolves
Instant analysis: Butler, a four-time All-Star, is done in Minnesota after one season and 13 games into the 2018-19 campaign. He heads to Philadelphia, where he will team with All-Star Joel Embiid and reigning Kia Rookie of the Year winner Ben Simmons to give the Sixers a triumvirate not seen since Julius Erving, Moses Malone and Andrew Toney graced the court in the early 1980s. For the Wolves, the trade ends weeks of speculation and distraction while also giving them versatile, young “3-and-D” forwards Covington and Saric to pair with their stars Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns.
